Do you do “free” estimates?

The initial in-home consultation is free of charge.  During this time we will discuss your plans and what options are available for your situation.  From this initial meeting we will generally present you a budget range which will be communicated during the initial meeting or after some time spent estimating back in our office.  The initial consultation often suffices for you and us to decide on whether or not we are an ideal fit to be your contractor.  We may charge for any thorough design, estimating, specifying and feasibility work beyond this point.  this work is sometimes necessary in order to set a reliable cost for your specific project.  In case you feel that you would like to move forward, we will generate a Design/Build Agreement based on your personal goals and budget.  This allows us to do the work needed to thoroughly design and estimate the cost of your project without any obligations to the actual construction of the project.

We have heard these stories too and, with our Timeline Guarantee, we do absolutely everything possible to keep your project moving along quickly. We never take on more projects than we can handle at any given time. If there is work that can be done on a given day, someone will be there working.

Remodeling can sometimes be inconvenient and dusty, especially kitchens, bathrooms and floors.  However, most of our projects are completed while our customers remain in their homes.  Our customers often find our team of professional technicians very courteous and accommodating.  However, if your project is extensive, you may consider a temporary alterative living situation.  If this is the case, you can rest assured that all of our technicians are safe and screened regularly to ensure the best service is available to you.

Should I anticipate any costs beyond the contract price?

TrustBilt will not charge more than the original contract price without the signed approval of our customers.  Extra charges can sometimes occur do to customer changes (design, plan, upgrades, etc) or unforeseen conditions (decayed framing, hidden pipes or wires, etc).  Although, we attempt to anticipate some unforeseen costs, it is recommended that our customers plan 5-10% extra funds just in case giving you the flexibiliity to make changes and upgrades as you see fit throughout the process.

Do you guarantee your prices?

All quotes from TrustBilt are 100% guaranteed.  Any requests for upgrades or changes will be quoted at time of request, and work will commence on such upon your approval.

What’s the difference between an estimate and a price?

An “Estimate” is just that “an Estimate”. It can and most likely will change. Many contractors lack the ability and/or patience to produce accurate estimates and tend to “guesstimate” the costs based on very little information. This method offers you no protection against cost changes.

A “Price” is generally fixed, and is usually based on more detailed information taken from the site visit and/or drawings. A price generally requires a fixed set of specifications and scope of work and therefore requires a great deal of “pre-planning” and designing. This method offers the most in the way of price protection. Usually the client and the contractor agree (in writing) on a fixed scope and fixed price.

These are general definitions. It all depends on the terms set forth in the contract. TrustBilt does over 90% of all jobs on a “fixed” price.

How do you handle Change Orders?

All work that constitutes an additional charge will be done through a written Change Order Quote and signed Customer Approval.

How do your prices compare to other contractors?

All TrustBilt projects have a Price Protection Guarantee.  If you find a lower price on the same service, brand and style of products within 30 days of payment, we will happily refund the difference.  Due to our experience and care for our customers, we often do our due diligence to present an accurate price up-front in order to avoid surprising our customers with extra charges throughout the process.  Other contractors may give a "base-line" quote up-front in hopes for "mandatory" change orders through the process.  With our Service Guarantees and Product Warrantees you can rest assured that you will get a Quality job at a Fair price!

Will I be able to select the actual products for my project?

Yes. All products like doors, hardware, trim, windows, siding, plumbing and electrical fixtures, flooring, paint colors, and all specialty items are selected by you, with our guidance as needed.
